Shamsul Arif Haruna

Shamsul Arif Haruna, a Malaysian aged 50. He graduated from University Kebangsaan Malaysia with Bachelor of Science in Geology. He has 20 years of experience in the mining industry. He started his career as an exploration and mining geologist at Specific Resources Sdn Bhd and was responsible for providing advice and support for exploration activities of Penjom Gold Mine in Pahang which has produced 1,000,000oz of gold to date. Prior to joining Bahvest Resources Berhad, he was the Regional Exploration Manager cum Mine Planning and Resource Manager of Selinsing Gold Mine which has produced 330,000oz ((US400mil) of gold to date. He was involved in, amongst others, designation of mine plans to meet company volumetric and grade objectives, determination of mining strategy and overseeing the daily production. He was the Exploration and Geology Manager of Bahvest Resources Berhad (Bahvest) which owns the gold mining project in Bukit Mantri, Tawau, Sabah. Shamsul was responsible for the preparation of JORC report for Bukit Mantri and the subsequent setting up of the CIL plant facility in August 2018. Bahvest now has a market capitalization of RM370 million on Bursa. He is now the Chief Geologist for Borneo Oil Group and Southern Alliance Mining Ltd for their respective gold mining division.
